Melodee Hanes is Co-Chair of the Max Baucus Institute. She previously served in the U.S. Department of Justice, appointed by President Barack Obama as Acting Director of the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention and Acting Director of Communications for the Office of Justice Programs. Over her 30-year career in public service and law, she focused on prosecuting cases involving child abuse, sexual assault, and homicide. Today, she leads efforts at the Max Baucus Institute to mentor and prepare the next generation of Montana leaders.
