Su Wei was China's Chief Climate Negotiator during COP21, resulting in the historic Paris Agreement that established long-term goals to substantially reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and keep global temperature increase to well below two degrees above pre-industrial levels. He has enjoyed a distinguished career in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, serving in a variety of different capacities, including as Counselor of the Permanent Mission of China to the United Nations; Deputy Director of the Department of Treaty and Law at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and Deputy Secretary-General of the National Development and Reform Commission.
