Ng Eng Hen is the former Minister for Defence of Singapore, a role he held from 2011 until his retirement in 2025 after 24 years in public service. Elected to Parliament in 2001, he previously served in various ministerial positions, including Minister for Manpower, Minister for Education, and Deputy Leader of the House. During his tenure, he oversaw the modernization of the Singapore Armed Forces. Before entering politics, Dr. Ng was a consultant surgeon at Singapore General Hospital and Mount Elizabeth Hospital.
