The China-United States Exchange Foundation (CUSEF) extends its good wishes to Nobel Peace Prize laureate Muhammad Yunus on his appointment as Head of the Interim Government of Bangladesh.
CUSEF values its partnership with Professor Yunus. His lifelong dedication to social, economic, and environmental causes, including his pioneering work in microcredit and microfinance, has lifted many of the world’s poorest out of poverty, inspiring global confidence and leadership.
We were privileged when he addressed the U.S.-China Hong Kong Forum, our annual meeting, in 2023. We have proudly participated in the Yunus Centre’s Social Business Summit. Through our long friendship, and the many interviews we have done together, I have personally witnessed the transformative power of his compassion and commitment.
Professor Yunus is only the seventh person in history to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, Presidential Medal of Freedom, and Congressional Gold Medal. His efforts have saved and improved lives, and set a new benchmark for addressing the world’s most urgent challenges.
