Exchange Visits

One of the best ways to understand a person, a place, or a community is to engage with it face-to-face. CUSEF’s Exchange Visits program provides opportunities for first-hand, authentic on-the-ground experiences, allowing the U.S. delegates to see China through their own eyes with better understanding of the complexities of China's rise and challenges it faces.

Media Exchanges
In 2009, CUSEF initiated the Media Exchange program, inviting American journalists to visit mainland China and meet with Chinese officials, business leaders and experts. This program helps the journalists gain first-hand insights on China’s development and progress over the past decades and its ongoing growth stories and challenges as well. The journlists are from the influential U.S. mainstream media outlets such as The Economist, National Public Radio, the Atlantic Magazine, and Bloomberg, Washington Post, Bloomberg News, Time Magazine, Chicago Tribune, among others.
CUSEF Direct Dialogues in the U.S.
The Foundation actively seeks opportunities to introduce the American public to high level Chinese officials in a friendly and collaborative atmosphere.
State Government Exchanges
CUSEF is committed to fostering ties and deepening engagement with American policy circles and has been facilitating annual visits of U.S. governors of states and state legislators to China since 2008, to deepen their knowledge of China and build a community of former politicians who remain actively engaged in China-US relations. Participants travel throughout China and are able to engage with Chinese leaders for candid discussions on key issues facing both countries.
