2019 University of Chicago Student Delegation Explores China

Since 2015, the China-United States Exchange Foundation (CUSEF) has led the fourth group of students from the University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy to China. This year, CUSEF is delighted to host a group of 17 graduate students for a visit to China from March 23 to March 31, 2019.

During the 9-day trip, the students visited Beijing, Chengdu, and Shanghai. The delegation had the opportunity to discuss current hot issues with government officials, scholars, professors, businesspeople, and their Chinese counterparts. The series of meetings enhanced the delegation's understanding of China’s growing impact on the global economy as the group deepened their understanding of China’s economic development, urbanization, environment, and more.

The students also explored multiple historical and cultural attractions in China, including the Great Wall, Forbidden City, Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding Research Base, the Shanghai Bund, Pearl T.V. Tower, and more.
