The China-United States Exchange Foundation (CUSEF) recently welcomed a delegation of 18 students from Harvard University, organized in collaboration with the Harvard College China Forum (HCCF), for a ten-day cultural exchange program across China. During their travels through Hong Kong, Yinchuan and Beijing, participants had the opportunity to learn about China’s technological innovation, renewable energy initiatives, and cultural heritage.
The program commenced in Hong Kong on August 17, where students visited the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks to observe local research and laboratory operations firsthand. They also met with representatives from the South China Morning Post, HSBC, and the American Chamber of Commerce, gaining insights into the city’s media landscape, financial systems, and global business environment.
In Yinchuan, the delegation shifted focus to sustainability and environmental resilience. The students visited the Shapotou Nature Reserve, where they learned about China’s pioneering efforts in desertification control and ecological restoration. They also toured Yuanshi Vineyard, a former mining site, which illustrated how environmental protection can be integrated into regional development and agricultural innovation.
The final leg of the exchange took place in Beijing, where students explored iconic cultural landmarks including the Great Wall and the Forbidden City.
Founded in 1997, the Harvard College China Forum is North America’s leading and longest-running student-run conference on China, dedicated to strengthening cooperation and understanding between China and the world. CUSEF is honored to continue partnering with HCCF to promote meaningful dialogue and collaboration that bridges cultures and addresses global challenges.
