Yenching Global Symposium
Established in 2016 and held annually, the Yenching Global Symposium (YGS) is a flagship event initiated and organized by scholars from the Yenching Academy of Peking University and China-United States Exchange Foundation (CUSEF). By exploring key issues related to China and the world, the Yenching Global Symposium (YGS) seeks to enable emerging leaders, established practitioners, and China scholars to develop informed solutions to global problems.
US-China Forum
US-China Forum, initiated in 2015, is an annual forum cohosted by CUSEF and top U.S. universities. Each year the Forum brings together leading experts from the U.S. and China for immersed discussions on critical issues faced both countries and, by extension, the world.
Harvard Kennedy China Conference
CUSEF is a partner of the Harvard Kennedy School China Conference, an annual student-led event attended by opinion leaders in realms of academia, politics, business and social enterprise. China Conference creates a public space for cross-sector dialogue, discussion, debate and collaboration, and probes into U.S.-China economy and relations within the global context.
CUSEF Next Gen Initiative
CUSEF Next Gen Initiative includes: Harvard University China Study Tour 2024, Young Leaders Initiative, and U.S.-China Student to Student Dialogue 2024, etc.
Academic Study Tours
CUSEF brings students from the top U.S. universities and colleges majored in law and journalism to China for immersed academic study tours since 2016, with a complete itinerary of subject-linked academic programs, company visits, meetings with government officials, think tanks and leading professionals, cultural activities, as well as professors and students from Chinese universities.
African-American Student China Study Tour
CUSEF has partnered with Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF), Chicago Urban League and other civil society organizations focusing on the Black community in the U.S. on immersive study-abroad programs since 2011, providing African-American students with opportunities to explore and enhance their understanding of China.
CUSEF x UChicago Harris School Initiative
The University of Chicago is one of the most prestigious private research universities in the United States, consistently ranking among the top universities globally. The Harris School of Public Policy is one of the six most renowned professional schools at the University of Chicago, dedicated to training high-level public policy researchers and managers in the United States. Since 2015, CUSEF has been collaborating with Chicago Harris School on educational exchange programs.
CUSEF x Johns Hopkins SAIS Initiative
The Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) has produced numerous prominent political scientists and economists. Since 2015, CUSEF has been collaborating with John Hopkins SAIS on educational exchange programs.
CUSEF x Harvard Kennedy School Initiative
Harvard Kennedy School (HKS) , full name “John F. Kennedy School of Government,” was founded as the Harvard Graduate School of Public Administration in 1936. It is the school of public policy and government of Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. CUSEF has partnered with Harvard Kennedy School to organize the China study tour since 2014.
CUSEF x Georgetown University Initiative
Georgetown University is a leading research university founded in the decade that the U.S. Constitution was signed. It is the nation’s oldest Catholic and Jesuit university. CUSEF has collaborated with Georgetown University’s Initiative for U.S.-China Dialogue on Global Issues since 2017. Every year, a group of graduate students are invited on a field trip to learn and explore China.
CUSEF x Columbia SIPA Initiative
Columbia University in the City of New York is a member of the Ivy League. Its School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) offers a curriculum aiming at deepening the students' understanding of regional and national policies. Since 2017, CUSEF has been collaborating with Columbia SIPA on educational exchange programs.
CUSEF x Baucus Institute Initiative
Former U.S. Ambassador to China Max Baucus has devoted much of his time to the Max S. Baucus Institute in Montana, his home town, to break down barriers so that students can see, serve, and lead in politics, government, and overseas studies. The Institute's main areas of focus are: public service, climate, and U.S./China relations. Since 2023, CUSEF has been collaborating with Baucus Institute on educational exchange programs.
HBCUs Leadership Visit
Since September 2013, CUSEF has facilitated delegations of presidents from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) to visit China. The delegations met with officials from the Chinese Ministry of Education and Chinese universities, exchanging views and updates on bilateral educational cooperation and future scholarship programs. Both sides had candid discussions on cooperation in organizing HBCUs leadership trips, joint research programs, and student and faculty exchanges.
