World Development Forum
The 1st World Development Forum, supported by CUSEF and coorganized by students from Harvard Kennedy School (HKS), Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (Columbia SIPA) and Harvard Business School (HBS), held its opening ceremony on April 5, 2024, at the Harvard Memorial Church in the United States. Its mission is to create a platform for diverse perspectives to come together and explore innovative solutions for global development, and the theme of the 2024 Forum is "The Inclusive Path for the Shared Future."
Sino-American Youth Dialogue on Climate Change
Sponsored by CUSEF and organized by students from MIT and Tsinghua University, the Sino-American Youth Dialogue on Climate Change was held on October 8, 2021. A joint declaration of call for cooperation and urgent actions on decarbonization and sustainable development was announced, and later shared at the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26).
Sino-American Cooperation on Climate
On July 16, 2021, CUSEF partnered with the Association of Former Members of Congress (FMC) to host a virtual seminar themed "Sino-American Cooperation on Climate: 2021 and Beyond," discussing the prospects of China-U.S. cooperation on climate change and clean energy. Attending American and Chinese experts were: David Lampton, Professor Emeritus of China Studies and Senior Fellow of the Foreign Policy Institute; Christine Loh, Chief Development Strategist of Hong Kong University Science and Technology (HKUST); and Greg Walden, former U.S. Representatives for Oregon’s 2nd congressional district. The seminar was moderated by Rich Powell, Executive Director of ClearPath Rich Powell.
Supporting New York Pandemic Response
In spring 2020, when the disease struck the U.S., we donated US$500,000 for purchase of PPEs for health workers affiliated to several U.S.entities in New York, including the Service Employees International Union, the St. John's Episcopal Hospital in New York, and various civic communities.
